In a strategic move towards digital storytelling, renowned filmmaker Karan Johar is set to introduce Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, alongside Archies' debutante Khushi Kapoor in an upcoming romantic comedy. This project, backed by Dharma Productions' digital arm, Dharmatic Entertainment, is gearing up to grace the OTT platform with a fresh narrative.
Known for his knack for shaping the careers of star kids, Karan Johar continues this tradition by casting Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor as the lead pair in this yet-to-be-titled romantic comedy. The ensemble cast has been finalized, and the film is currently in the pre-production phase. According to insiders, discussions are underway with a prominent OTT provider for the streaming rights.

The directorial reins for this venture fall into the capable hands of Shauna Gautam, who previously served as an assistant director on notable projects such as Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh's 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' and Rajkumar Hirani's 'Sanju.' The film is set to go into production next year, marking another milestone in the careers of the budding stars.
While the film's title remains undisclosed, sources suggest that it will be a quintessential romantic comedy, a genre that Hindi cinema is renowned for. Karan Johar and the production team believe that the narrative palette aligns better with the OTT platform, opting for an original release rather than a theatrical debut.

This collaboration marks Ibrahim Ali Khan's second venture with Dharma Productions, following his involvement in the Kashmiri thriller 'Sarzameen,' which features Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran. On the other hand, Khushi Kapoor, known for her debut film 'The Archies,' can be seen on Netflix, sharing the screen with Yuvraj Menda, Vedang Raina, Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Mihir Ahuja. 'The Archies' unfolds in India's Anglo-Indian community, set against the backdrop of a fictional town named Riverdale.
