In 2021, there were reports of a fallout between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan, which led to Kartik’s exit from Dostana 2. After three years, they have now resolved their differences and teamed up for a romantic comedy titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
Kartik took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to share an announcement video with his voiceover. In the video, he talks about having three breakups and how his exes struggled after their relationships ended. He promises to make sure his fourth relationship doesn’t face the same fate, saying, " Mummy kasam khayi hain maine."

The film, titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, will be directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously worked with Kartik on Satyaprem Ki Katha. The female lead is yet to be revealed, and the movie is set to release during Christmas 2026.
This is the first time Kartik and Karan Johar are working together on a film. Back in 2019, Dharma Productions announced Dostana 2, but the project was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Before filming could resume, rumors about a fallout between Kartik and Karan were circulating.
Kartik was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, a box office hit. The movie will be available on Netflix from December 27. Directed by Anees Bazmee, it is the third part of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series. The film brings together Kartik Aaryan (from part 2) and Vidya Balan (from part 1), along with Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri.
