In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama on Sunday, Udit Narayan repeated his stance regarding the viral video that sparked controversy. He firmly stated, "Have I ever done anything to shame myself, my family, or my country? Why would I do so now, at this stage in my life, when I’ve already achieved everything?" Narayan emphasized the strong and pure connection he shares with his fans, describing the video as a symbol of their mutual affection. "They love me, and I love them even more," he added.

Narayan also revealed his aspirations for the highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna, and expressed admiration for legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, whom he considers his idol. "I’ve won multiple prestigious awards, including Filmfare, National Awards, Padma Shri, and Padma Bhushan, but I still dream of the Bharat Ratna, like Lataji," he said. He further shared that he was her favorite duet partner among his generation of singers and had sung the most duets with her. With the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, Narayan declared he is unfazed by those who struggle to accept others' success.

Also interviewer asked you're not embarrassed or ashamed? he said Not at all! Why should I be? Can you hear any regret or sorrow in my voice? In fact, I’m laughing as I speak. There’s nothing sleazy or secretive about it—it's all out in the open. My heart is pure. If some people choose to see something inappropriate in my gesture of pure affection, I feel sorry for them. But I also want to thank them."
