Their connection traces back to the TIME 100 Impact Award ceremony held in Singapore last year, where both Ayushmann and Eric were honoured as among the most influential people globally. This meeting marked the genesis of a special friendship fueled by their shared passion for music and, notably, their insatiable love for food.
With Eric currently in India for Lollapalooza, Ayushmann seized the opportunity to extend his hospitality and introduce the Korean artist to the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine. The Bollywood actor, known for his versatile talents, didn't just host Eric; he orchestrated a culinary extravaganza that spanned the length and breadth of the country.
Their friendship, kindled at the TIME 100 Impact Award ceremony, continued to blossom, leading Ayushmann to plan an elaborate culinary experience for Eric during his stay in Mumbai.

Ayushmann's hospitality knew no bounds as he treated Eric to an array of mouth-watering dishes from different regions of India. The menu featured West Indian specialities like Kanda Bhajiya with green chutney & red chutney, followed by a North Indian delicacy, Pindi Chole Amritsari Kulcha. The South Indian non-vegetarian sensation, Hyderabadi Gosht Ki Biryani with Raaita, made its appearance, showcasing the diverse culinary heritage of the subcontinent. The culinary journey concluded on a sweet note with Ras Malai from the famed East.
Ayushmann says, “I realised that Eric is a big foodie and I wanted to give him the best food experience in our country that he will never be able to forget! Our beautiful country, our Incredible India is also known across the world for its culinary might! We have so many cultures that the cuisine is extremely diverse and unique! Indian food is a celebration of life itself and I wanted Eric to feel that when he is in India! I could see his eyes go wide each time he took a bite and savoured each dish to the fullest! I was happy seeing him happy because I truly believe in the saying ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’!”

We took a short but delicious culinary trip throughout India as he guided me through some of the tastiest dishes of this beautiful and vast country. I am an avid foodie and being able to try these diverse dishes in one sitting with Ayushmann as my guide was truly wonderful. I love India and it was so much fun tasting every corner of your country’s incredible food palate. My favourite dish of the experience was chole and roti, and of course, the fun conversations I shared with Ayushmann were a blast.
