Mohanlal's Usha Puja for Mammootty’s Health at Sabarimala Temple Creates Debate

Mohanlal’s Sabarimala Puja Controversy: Recently, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s visit to Sabarimala for the 'Usha puja' in the  support of his actor-friend Mammootty has opened up a controversy. Some people pointed out that Mammootty's religious beliefs doesn't allow him to worship any other deity than Allah.

Reports have indicated that Mohanlal visited Sabarimala on 18 March, just ahead of the release of his directorial film L2: Empuraan on 27th of March.

Following Mohanlal’s visit, a puja offering receipt surfaced online, which mentioned Mammootty's birth name, Muhammed Kutty, & his star ‘Visakham,’ which rapidly went viral.

The receipt which was issued by the Devaswom office, suggested that Mohanlal had performed Hindu rituals on the behalf of his Muslim friend, Mammootty.

Meanwhile, rumors about Mammootty undergoing cancer treatment have been circulating, but his team has firmly denied these claims.

Addressing the controversy, Mohanlal defended his actions, stating, “What’s wrong in praying for him? He is doing well. He had a minor health issue, but that’s normal for everyone. There is nothing to worry about.” He further called the matter “deeply personal.”
