The screenshots from the "Houthi PC small group" chat depicted top US officials discussing the timing of the strikes & the types of aircraft used for the March 15 attack — the first on the group ever since Donald Trump's presidency began in January 2025.

The Atlantic first reported on the significant security breach on Monday & released the chats after Mr. Hegseth responded to a reporter’s question about why he shared details of the planned attack on Yemen by saying, "Nobody was texting war plans."

The magazine further added, "The statements by Hegseth, (national intelligence director Tulsi) Gabbard, (CIA director John) Ratcliffe, and Trump - combined with the assertions made by numerous administration officials that we are lying about the content of the Signal texts - have led us to believe that people should see the texts in order to reach their own conclusions."
