Kulkarni’s recent visit garnered praise from social media users, who commended his efforts to support Kashmir's tourism industry. Many followers expressed their enthusiasm in the comments, with one writing, “Chalo Kashmir [Let’s go to Kashmir].” Another user shared their pride, commenting, “It’s a great time to show support! So proud of you, sir!”

A third user remarked, “Let’s not abandon tourism in Kashmir. This will isolate Kashmir, create an economic crisis, breed more hate, and ultimately aid separatists.” Additionally, someone else posted, “What a gesture... Chalo Kashmir!! Dushman ke irade tod ne."

Despite the recent events, Kulkarni reflected on his decision to visit Pahalgam, emphasising that he aimed to deliver a strong message to the nation. In an interview, the actor said, “The incident that took place on 22nd April has made the entire country sad. I read that 90 per cent of bookings have been cancelled here. The message that the terrorists are giving is not to come to Kashmir. This is not going to happen.” He further stated, “This is our Kashmir, our country, and we will come here. This is the answer we should give to the ideology of terrorists. I could not give this message staying in Mumbai, so I came here. If I can come, then the rest of the country can also come here. We should come here and not get scared.”

Atul Kulkarni’s remarks came after a tragic incident on April 22, when terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba opened fire on tourists at Baisaran Meadows in Pahalgam, resulting in 26 fatalities. Witnesses reported that 2-3 assailants dressed in military uniforms randomly fired at horseback riders. The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar, claimed responsibility for the attack.
