Ek Villain Returns, starring John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria could not sustain well on Monday.
Mohit Suri, a popular name from Bhatt’s camp, returns to the sequel which tells the story of two villains, played by John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor essaying negative roles, while Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria will play the female lead. Thanks to the intriguing trailer and popular songs, Ek Villain Returns took a good start in the morning shows across India which has brought some good news to the industry which is awaiting to end the dry spell at the box office.
The musical thriller got decent response from the audience as per BookMyShow.com while critics were slightly impressed with the outcome which led the first day opening figure touch Rs 7.05 crore from 3000 screens which is a good news. There was a slight growth on Saturday with 7.47 crore while Sunday was good with Rs 9.05 crore. As per early trade report, the first Monday of Ek Villain Returns dropped more than 50% to somewhere between Rs 2.75-3.25 crore, bringing the overall total to Rs 26-27 crore.
Ek Villain has been made at an estimated budget of Rs 80 Crores and is produced by Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Telejifilms.
