Ek Villain Returns, starring John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria releases after 8 years when the first part stormed the box office.
A remake of Korean thriller, I Saw the Devil, Ek Villain was released on 27th June, 2014 at 2500 screens to Rs 16.70 crore. The action-drama collected Rs 77.16 crore in its first week. Ek Villain ended its theatrical run with Rs 105.76 crores against a budget of Rs 39 crores and turned out to be “Super-Hit” at the box office.
Mohit Suri, a popular name from Bhatt’s camp, returns to the sequel which tells the story of two villains, played by John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor essaying negative roles, while Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria will play the female lead.
As per early trade report, the crime thriller has taken a good start in the morning shows across India which has brought some good news to the industry which is awaiting to end the dry spell at the box office. If the collections trends well towards afternoon and evening shows, the first day figure can touch Rs 6-7 crore which is a good news.
