Based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organisation, being falsely accused of espionage in 1994, Rocketry : The Nambiar Effect opened to tepid response on its first day at the box office with Rs 1.73 crore in all languages.

Rocketry showed a very good growth on Saturday thanks to the reviews which are excellent. The collections trended up with Rs 2.97 crore while Sunday was better with Rs 3.70 crore. It showed a very good hold on Monday with Rs 1.28 crore. As per early trade report, the biopic drama actually grew on Tuesday with Rs 1.30-1.35 crore, bringing the first five days total to around Rs 11.10 crore. The budget of the biopic drama is Rs 60 crore in Hindi, Tamil and English.

The other release of the week is Adityra Roy Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi starrer Rashtra Kavach Om which has met with a terrible response from both audience and critics, as the film collected just Rs 1.51 crore from mass centers. There was hardly any growth on Saturday with Rs 1.70 crore while Sunday reported Rs 1.90 crore. on Monday, it dropped to Rs 75 lakhs. As per trade estimates, the action drama dropped further with Rs 60-65 lakhs, summing up the total collection to Rs 5 crore. The budget of Om is Rs 30 crore.
