From the director of Good Newwz, Raj Mehta and Karan Johar is back with yet another comedy drama, JugJugg Jeeyo which seems to have brought some good news to the film fraternity. The trailer of Jug JuggJeeyo got a good response and is probably coming at the right time of the year when Bollywood is desperately seeking a hit after underwhelming response from Samrat Prithviraj.

Thanks to the impressive star cast, comprising of Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani, while the advance booking of JugJugg Jeeyo was better than Gangubai Kathiawadi and Samrat Prithviraj, especially in the North India side. The early reviews have been encouraging and with no major release this week, the opening in the morning shows was good in the range of 20-25% which is a good start. The comedy drama showed improvement over the day with the opening number at 9.28 crore on its first day at the box office which is the 8th highest opening film of 2022.

There was a good growth on Saturday with Rs 12.55 crore while Sunday was even better with Rs 15.10 crore, bringing the first weekend total to Rs 36.93 crore and is now the 7th highest opening weekend film of 2022 (please refer the table below).

As per early trade report, the comedy drama held on a decent note with somewhere between Rs 4.5-5 crore, bringing the 4 days total to Ra 41.50-42.50 crore. It has to maintain a strong momentum on the weekdays to post a healthy first week total. It has been made on a budget of Rs 105 crore (estimated) including the stars salary and promotion.

The comedy drama did very well in the overseas as it has become the 3rd highest opening weekend film after KGF 2 ( $ 3.80 million) and Gangubai Kathiawadi ($2.76 million) with $2.25 million, which is close to Rs 61 crore worldwide.
