One of the most expensive film in recent times, Samrat Prithviraj opened on a slow note at the box office. The Akshay Kumar starrer showed promise on Saturday and Sunday but slipped in the weekdays with poor response, posting the first week total to Rs 55.05 crore.
The biopic drama dropped on its second week due to the new releases with 10.95 crore. It dropped big time in the third week and has almost exhausted in its run with 3-4 crore, bringing the overall collection to around 70 crore. The budget of historical drama is estimated to be Rs 200 crore and has been released in close to 5000 screens across the globe.
The second big release of the week is Major which chronicles the life and story of the brave soldier Sandeep Unnikrshnan showed a healthy total of Rs 32.19 crore in all languages in first week. The biopic drama did fall in the second week but continued to bring in stable collection with Rs 6.63 crore. It remained stable in its third week, bringing the overall total to around Rs 42 crore. The budget to be estimated at Rs 30 crore.

The action thriller, Vikram, starring Kamal Hassan is doing exceptional business with first week total coming to Rs 143.95 crore. It held well in second week with Rs 52.2 crore while third week total was Rs 27.42 crore, bringing the overall total to Rs 225.57 crore, making it the highest grossing film of 2022.
The budget of Vikram is Rs 150 crore and also stars two supremely talented Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil.
