Recently, Johnny Depp’s agent, Jack Whigham, testified in Fairfax County Circuit Court. He said that Amber’s op-ed post in Washington not only was catastrophic to the actor’s career but also led to a $23 million deal loss for the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel.

In 2018, Depp filed a defamation case against Heard and sued her for USD 50 million in damages after she claimed in an article for The Washington Post 2018 that she had become the “public figure representing domestic abuse.” In the article in which she claimed haven't mentioned Jonny Deep's name. His lawyers say he was defamed because it was a clear reference to abuse allegations Amber Heard levied in 2016. Talking about the same article in court, Johnny’s agent said, “It was a first-person account, extremely impactful,” as per the Associated Press report.

Amber Heard's lawyers fought back against ack Whigham’s claim, who suggested that the article didn’t have any impact on the actor’s career amid a stream of bad publicity due to Johnny’s own bad behavior.

 Jack Whigham also revealed in his testimony that "He was paid $8 million for City Of Lies, $10 million for Murder on the Orient Express, and $13.5 million for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, all of which were shot in 2017, albeit under contracts reached prior to the allegations made against him."

Amber Heard’s lawyers asked Johnny’s agent if the Pirates deal was already gone by the time the actress’s article was published, to which the actor's lawyer acknowledged he never had a written deal for Johnny Depp to appear in a sixth Pirates film.

American actress Drew Barrymore also apologized for making fun of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's case on her show, The Drew Barrymore Show. The actress received huge criticism after she laughed over how the former couple's case was full of ‘insanity’ while chatting with a guest with Anthony Anderson was also been accused of sexual assault in the past.

Drew Barrymore invited actor Anthony Anderson and discuss several peculiar details of Johnny and Amber's allegations against each other, saying, “It’s like one layer of crazy, it’s seven-layer deep of insanity. She further added “I know that these are two people’s real lives and I know what it’s like to have your life put out in public. I understand all the feelings, but they are actually offering up this information,” while laughing over the couple.

After receiving criticism for laughing over the trail of the couple, Drew apologized through an Instagram video and called it a ‘teachable moment’ about how she can conduct herself in the future.

She said in the video, “It has come to my attention that I have offended people by making light of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard and for that, I just want to deeply apologize and appreciate everyone who spoke out because this can be a teachable moment for me and how I move forward and how I conduct myself."

She further added, “I can be a more thoughtful and better person moving forward because all I want to do is be a good person and I very much appreciate the depth of this, and I will grow and change from it. And I think everyone could help me grow along the way and teach me.”

After Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met on the sets of The Rum Diary in 2009 and started dating a few years later. In 2015, they got married. In 2016, Heard filed for divorce and alleged that Depp had physically abused her during their marriage under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Depp denied the accusations and stated that Heard was “attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.” Their divorce was finalized in 2017.
