‘Lion Never Forgets to Hunt,’ they say & MS Dhoni proves it every single night when he has to finish the way he does. In a nail biting fixer between two most successful teams of the IPL history Chennai Super Kings beats opponents on the last bowl, credit goes the Dhoni.
After winning toss Ravindra Jadeja invited Mumbai Indians to bat first and thrashed them in the very first overs. Mukesh Choudhary took two wickets in the very first over and those two are none other than Rohit Sharma & Ishan Kishan, two one of the dangerous batters of Mumbai. He doesn’t stop till that he comebacks and get Brewis caught behind and Mumbai loses three wickets io the power-play.
Suryakumar Yadav & Tilak Varma then joins some runs on board as Surya scored 32 while Varma scored 51 off 43 and remained not out. Overall Mumbai scored 155 runs a defendable total with a good bowling unit.
On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings too doesn’t start really well as Ruturaj Gaikwad goes to pavilion on golden duck while Santner too missed the scoring opportunity. Senior batters, Robin Uthappa & Ambati Rayadu built a good partnership in between but it was not enough to chase down the target. All thanks to Daniel Sams as he took some important wickets for Mumbai and as took the match from Chennai.
But the game was still on as Dhoni was still playing, alongside Pretorius he took the game deep till the last over where they had to make 17 runs in 6 balls. Seems like this is in the bowler’s favor but not as long as Dhoni came on strike on the third ball; Chennai needed 16 off 4 and Dhoni hit smoothly & swiftly managed to pull that off as he always does. He used all the four deliveries and hit 6, 4, 2 & 4. Mumbai Indians lost 7th match of their IPL run while CSK wins their second and collects 4 points.
Mukesh Choudhary is adjudged Player of the Match for his three wickets in the powerplay as @ChennaiIPL win by 3 wickets.
