Grammy Awards 2022 highlights present the overall list of winners to the overall musical event held at this big event.
After the controversial 94th Academy Awards, the 64th Annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, April 3 at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas. The musical gala started telecasting live from 8 and went on till 11:30 pm ET/5-8:30 pm PT.
After the severe covid restrictions were lifted up after two years, Grammys 2022 had a great start. It started with a stunning red carpet till the impressive performances made the biggest music night more entertaining.
Every year, the Grammys honor musical artists, compositions, and albums. They have been held every year since 1959. This year, the number of categories had been bumped to 86, which was more than last year’s 84 categories.
The award ceremony gets started with Trevor Noah being the host opens the show with a Will Smith joke. He jokes about Finneas' surname and also promises to keep ‘people’s names out of our mouths which is a slight dig at the Will Smith-Chris Rock slap incident from last week's Oscars.
BTS performs on their hit track Butter. The group also got a standing ovation.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also made an unexpected appearance during the ceremony and give a message through a pre-recorded video. Zelenskyy has won praise for his courage and leadership during the Russian invasion of his country which has created a humanitarian crisis. He drew attention to the issue in his evocative message to the world.
He says, “The war. What’s more opposite than music, The silence of ruined cities and killed people. Our children drew swooping rockets, not shooting stars. Over 400 children have been injured and 153 children died. And we will never see them drawing. The war doesn’t let us choose who survives and who stays in eternal silence. Our musicians wear body armor instead of tuxedos. They sing to the wounded. In hospitals.”
He urged those listening to talk about the war. “Tell the truth about war. On your social networks. On TV. Support us in any way you can. Any. But not silence,”
