Kpop trendsetters popular artists like Twice and Blackpink has taken over 2022's Philippines campaign rally.

The 2022 Philippine presidential and vice-presidential elections are planned to be held on Monday, 9th May 2022, as part of the 2022 general election. It will be the 17th direct presidential election and 16th vice-presidential election in the Philippines, and the 6th sextennial presidential and vice-presidential election.

The 2022 presidential election will be the first where all candidates for president were born after World War II ended. Incumbent president Rodrigo Duterte is ineligible for re-election as he is limited to a single term, under the 1987 Philippine Constitution.

The front-running candidates are Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (the son of former president and dictator Ferdinand Marcos), Leni Robredo (current vice president), and boxer Manny PacquaioSara Duterte, the daughter of current President Rodrigo Duterte, is Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s running mate, and she is running for vice president. The position of president and vice president are elected separately; the two winning candidates could thus come from different political parties.

For this upcoming election, the Philippines held a presidential campaign rally on 11th March. It was held by Leni Robredo and her running mate, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan in Bacolod City.

Leni Robredo was born April 23, 1965, is a Filipino lawyer, politician, and social activist who is the 14th and incumbent vice president of the Philippines. Robredo was the wife of the late interior secretary Jesse Robredo. She served as the representative of Camarines Sur's 3rd district from 2013 until her inauguration as vice president in 2016. In the vice-presidential election, Robredo defeated Bongbong Marcos by a narrow margin of 263,473 votes. A report released by the Supreme Court further widened her lead to 278,566 over Marcos.

Robredo is the second woman to serve as vice president of the Philippines after Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and the first vice president from the Bicol Region. In 2016, Robredo was awarded by the government of Thailand for her work and advocacy in women's empowerment and gender equality. Under her leadership, the Office of the Vice President also received the ISO 9001: 2015 certification for the office's quality management systems.

The rally reportedly drew in a crowd of approximately 70,000 people.

Before the rally began, the crew played the soundtrack Twice's “The Feels” which was blasting over the speaker system, and the crowd danced and sang along to the song.

Fans who were present in the crowd were so happy to hear that “The Feels” was played before the presidential rally. On 7th March fan previously gave Leni Robredo a Nayeon photo card and the presidential candidate seemed genuinely excited to receive the photo card as a gift.

Later on the 20th March, Leni Robredo and her running mate, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, held a rally in Pasig and the rally reportedly drew a crowd of approximately 180,000 people. The rally was the largest Leni-Kiko rally yet.

In this rally  BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” was played, and Lisa's voice “BLACKPINK in your area” at the beginning of the song made the crowd go wild and they started chanting along.
