Squid Game has created history with the help of its amazing stars Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon by winning 3 awards at SAG Awards 2022.
On 27th February SAG Awards, 2022 took place at Santa Monica, California. Popular Netflix thriller drama 'Squid Game' won Outstanding Action Performance as a Stunt Ensemble at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon each took the home awards for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series in the male and female divisions. This made them the first Korean actors to win these awards in the drama series category. They are also the first actors of Asian nationality to do so.
Lee Jung Jae also gave an acceptance speech. He said, “Oh my. Thank you so much. This is truly huge. I wrote something, but I don’t think I can read it. Thank you so much, SAG Awards. Thank you to the global audience for all of your love for ‘Squid Game,’ and thank you ‘Squid Game’ team!”
Jung Ho Yeon shared, “First of all, thank you so much. I have seen many of the actors in the audience through the TV screen, dreaming of becoming an actress one day while watching you all. Thank you for making me dream and opening the door for me. I love you my ‘Squid Game’ crew!”
“Squid Game” made history by receiving four nominations for the 28th SAG Awards. It became the first non-English language TV series ever to be nominated for an award.
Last year it also took home Choice Awards 2021 as “The Bingeworthy Show of 2021.” Congratulations to the actors and the whole crew members of the Series!
