83 Morning Show Occupancy – Ranveer Singh Starrer Takes A Good Opening

Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 was one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film revolves around India's historic 1983 World Cup win. Ranveer Singh will be seen stepping into the shoes of Kapil Dev. Also starring are Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R Badree and Pankaj Tripathi. Deepika Padukone will be seen playing Romi, Kapil Dev's wife.

1st Week Box Office – Spider Man No Way Home And Pushpa Are Unstoppable

Produced by Reliance Entertainment, Phantom Films, Kabir Khan Films Production, 83 has received a phenomenal response from the audience and critics. Thanks to dynamic trailer which has fetched 50 million views within 24 hours, beating the previous record holders - Sooryavanshi and Zero, the cricket biopic drama had opened to the range 40-50% in the morning shows, bringing Rs 14.55 crore from the Hindi belt and from 3374 screens. As the cricket drama was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages,  it collected Rs 1.70 crores, taking the first day opening day total collection to somewhere between Rs 16-16.30 crores from 3741 screens nationwide.

This Day That Year Box Office : When Aamir Khan’s Dangal And Shah Rukh Khan’s Don 2 Were released On 23rd December

Though the opening has been good but much was expected from the cricket biopic drama as the budget is close to Rs 200 crore. The restrictions due to rising COVID-19 cases and limited occupancy had hampered its growth. The silver lining is the exceptional reviews and strong word of mouth which should help the film to make some impact during the holiday season.

Released in 3D. Kamal Haasan’s Raajkamal Films International and Akkineni Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios join hands with Reliance Entertainment to present the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively of the film. Prithviraj’s production, and Kichcha Sudeepa’s Shalini Arts are set to present the film in Malayalam and Kannada versions. The film is jointly produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment.
