The Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui performed decently in its first week at the box office.
Ayushmann Khurrana is back with yet another unconventional film, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui which has been able to achieved good reviews which in turn is keeping the movie afloat in these challenging times. From the director of Kai Po Che and Rock One, Abhishek Kapoor brought the fresh pair of Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor in a love story, dance, drama and a twist. Thanks to the interesting trailer, solid lead actor, talented director and entertainment factor, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui opened on a decent note to Rs 3.75 crore. There was a slight growth on Saturday with Rs 4.87 crore while Sunday was good with Rs 5.91 crore.
The drop was slight on Monday with Rs 2.15 crore which was good while Tuesday went up with Rs 2.18 crore while Wednesday was good with Rs 2.05 crore. As per early estimates, the romantic drama dropped on its first Thursday and collected somewhere between Rs 1.25-1.30 crore, bringing the first week total to around Rs 22 crore which is still healthy considering the restrictions and a bold subject. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui will face two titans from today - Spider Man No Way Home and Pushpa, which will definitely impact its box office performance.
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is made on a budget of Rs 40 Crores ( Production cost: 30 Crores, Advertising Cost : 10 Crores) and has released in 3000 screens worldwide ( India: 2500 screens, Overseas: 500 screens). The comedy drama is produced by T-Series and Guy in the Sky Pictures.
