Satyameva Jayate 2 Review: A Tribute to 80s Movies Goes Surreal

Though it's been a long time since we saw hero smashing his opponents with superhuman powers. John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate 2 is all about a young man sweeping all negative and corrupt bodies all around. Milap Zaveri directorial and T-Series production implies patriotic significance with heavy dialogues as well.

Unlike the first part (Satyameva Jayate) the sequel doesn't introduce the background of the story in the first half. It starts with the plot of the previous movie where; John Abraham kills and revenges his opposition. With heroic entries, John Abraham reveals his first role in the movie which is Satya, Home-minister who becomes the actual killer later in the movie while Jay, police officer who helps him eventually.

Both are the children of farmer's leader Dadasaheb, who raised his voice for Farmer's when he was young, though he died fighting but inspired many including his two sons, Satya & Jay. Satya is shown as a married & mature while Jay has humour side with heroic ways to get justice; both contains one common factor that is, fearlessness.

Other than John, Divya Khosla-Kumar (wife of Satya) is shown as young politician, encouraging women safety issues. Despite the movie is centred around John Abraham's triple role, Vidya plays crucial role in the climax. First half of the movie is all consists with actions and heavy patriotic dialogues while second half is an inspiring past of Dadasaheb Azad and revenge of his death.

Rating acting part in the movie, John Abraham is all classic and justified his triple role, with larger-than-life characters John plays it realistically. On the other hand, Divya Kumar who is returning to her acting journey seems off bit against John. Other cameos in the movie reminds crime petrol episodic actors, honestly.

Though Satya's character doesn't develop on the politician's part except first few minutes; he's home minister for name sake later on. While Jay stays in cop's role for longer time.

Milap Zaveri in the director's role doesn't lose any chance to add masala in the film while on the other hand also tries to merge many social topics such as, Corruption, Farmer's Suicide, Women's Safety, Lokpal Bill, Religious tolerance and many more.

Apart from this, Satyameva Jayate 2 consist inspiring patriotic and touching songs along with item number, Kusu-Kusu featuring Nora Fateh Ali. It also has 'tenu lehenga' as wedding song and 'meri zindagi tu' to showcase romanticism between Satya and Vidya.

Overall Satyameva Jayate 2 is a sure shot entertainer and a tribute to 80's films. Though it doesn't give justice to the first part but it may surprise with Box Office numbers.
