The Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi held well on its first Wednesday at the box office which was good enough to become the 10th highest grossing film of Akshay Kumar.
Sooryavanshi, starring the superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif finally hit the theaters and the big budgeted Rohit Shetty’s cop universe cheered up audience during the Diwali festival this year as the cop drama went on to become the 2nd highest opening film with Rs 26.29 crore for Akshay Kumar after Mission Mangal.

On the second day, the cop action drama held well on to its position and dropped by only 10% which is excellent considering Friday was Diwali, on Saturday, the Karan Johar produced film earned Rs 23.85 crore. The earnings shot up on Sunday and minted Rs 26.94 crore while Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday was outstanding with a small drop and collections of Rs 14.51 crore, Rs 11.22 crore and Rs 9.55 crore respectively. As per early estimates, Sooryavanshi held well again on its first Thursday and collected somewhere between Rs 7.85-8 crore, bringing the first week collections to around Rs 120 crore. With this collection, Sooryavanshi has now become the 10th highest grossing film of Akshay Kumar beating the lifetime collections of Housefull 2 ( Rs 116 crore), Jolly LLB 2 ( Rs 115.5 crore and Holiday (Rs 113 ccrore)

Sooryavanshi has been released in 3519 screens across India while the budget is estimated to be around Rs 165 crore (Production Cost: 150 Crore & Prints and Advertising cost: 15 Crores)
The cop drama is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Productions, Cape Of Good Films and stars Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in key roles.
