1st Week Box Office - Eternals Crosses 25 Crore At Domestic, Annaatthe Crosses 200 Crore Worldwide

Thanks to the Diwali festival and theaters returning with more occupancy rate Marvel's Eternals and Rajnikanth starrer Annaatthe collected a hefty sum at the box office in first week.

Produced by Marvel Studiosthe 26th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).  Chloé Zhao, directed Eternals was highly anticipated film where the immortal beings with superhuman powers who were living a secret life on Earth for thousands of years, reunite to battle the evil Deviants. Kind of sequel to previous Marvel's blockbuster Avengers, Eternals opened to a fabulous response during the Diwali festival with Rs 8.75 crore from 1400 screens across India and including all languages (English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu). The opening day figure was also good enough to beat the previous Marvel's blockbuster Shang-Chi, which collected Rs 2.97 crore. The superhero saga dropped on Saturday with Rs 5.5 crore while Sunday was slightly better with Rs 5.75 crore. There was a big drop on Monday with Rs 2.15 crore. The super hero saga showed downward trend with Rs 1.87 crore on Tuesday, Rs 1.47 crore on Wednesday. As per early estimates, Eternals dropped further on Thursday at the box office, collecting somewhere between Rs 1-1.10 crore and bringing the first week figure to Rs 25.50-26 crore. The budget of Eternals is estimated to be around $200 million and has released 800  locations and 1400 screens across India.

The Rajnikanth starrer Annaatthe already become the second best opening weekend grosser after Vijay starrer Master this year with Rs 83.55 crore (extended four days weekend).  Directed by Siva and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, the action drama dropped heavily on Monday at the ticket window with Rs 3.9 crore and went further down with Rs 2.88 crore on Tuesday, Rs 2.55 crore on Wednesday and Rs 2.1 crore on Thursday (as per early trade estimates, bringing the 8 days collections to Rs 94.2 crore.

As per trade report, Annatthe had crossed 200 crore worldwide (Day 1 - 70.19 cr, Day 2 - 42.63 cr, Day 3 - 33.71 cr, Day 4 - 28.20 cr, Day 5 - 11.85 cr, Day 6 - 9.50 cr, Day 7 - 6.39 cr)  to become the fastest movie to enter the Rs 200 crore club this year..
