The Central and Western Railway has recently undertaken a passenger survey on the AC local trains and had submitted the response from commuters to the railway ministry. Passengers had asked for a reduction in the fares of the AC local train.
Passengers can pay the fare difference with the checking staff inside. A senior Western Railway (WR) official said they are in talks with the Railway Board to seek a go-ahead. Both Western and Central Railway (CR) have 11 AC locals in total.
"The Western Railway (WR) ask for the permission from the chairman and CEO of Railway Board, Suneet Sharma to carry out such an experiment," Said to Official.
