Swiggy’s woman driver will have paid time off during Periods for the well being of their health .

Woman have to go through a lot of pain during periods, taking care of their bodies is very vital for them . Not taking care of oneself at the time of menstruation cycle can have a lot of harmful effects such as mood swings, pain in the body , not being able to focus and etc.

In order to take care of woman and to allow them to have better conditions of their bodies while they are in probably the worst time of the month , An outstanding initiative is taken by Swiggy.

The company is going to give a monthly period time off for their female driver employees.Discomfort from being out and about on the road while menstruating is probably one of the most underreported reasons why many women don’t consider delivery to be a viable gig,” Mihir Shah, Vice President of Operations at Swiggy, said in a blog post Thursday.

He also added “To support them through any menstruation related challenges, we’ve introduced a no-questions-asked, two-day paid monthly period time-off policy for all our regular female delivery partners,” .

Swiggy’s women delivery drivers can choose for two days of paid time-off every month. Those who decides to take the monthly paid time-off will receive a minimum earnings guarantee.

Other initiatives by Swiggy includes for female employees giving the facility of implimenting safety measures and clean hygienic restrooms and bathrooms. This initative by Swiggy is getting a lot of appreciation from people all over the country and it is very inspiring for other multinational companies to take similar effort.
