March 24th 2020 was supposed to be explosive as Rohit Shetty’s most ambitious project, Sooryavanshi, starring the superstar Akshay Kumar was about to hit the theaters. The big budgeted three-quel to Singham and Simmba is highly anticipated film in the Rohit Shetty’s cop universe but COVID-19 deadly virus played the spoil sport. However, the makers have announced the release of action flick which is expected to bring the audience back to theaters during the Diwali festival this year. It was also learnt that Salman Khan was planning to release Antim along with the Hollywood biggie Eternals during the Diwali time but it seems that the makers of Sooryavanshi have requested 100% screen allocation to the film and the theater owners have even complied with it, blocking the competition from Antim and Eternals.

The film distributor Sunil Wadhwa told ETimes, “It has given us immense pleasure to announce our most awaited film of the year Sooryavanshi as a Diwali release for not only the exhibitors but also for the moviegoers who were waiting for a big tentpole film. All exhibitors have given us their solidarity to showcase Sooryavanshi with 100 percent screen space, in fact in other states where cinemas have already reopened there is still a big chunk of cinemas which will open only with Sooryavanshi."

Sooryavanshi is directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Productions, Cape Of Good Films. Sooryavanshi also stars Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in key roles.
