Akshaye Khanna returned to the silver screen after giving admiring performances in films like Ittefaq and Mom with Section 375 which was yet  another powerful film based on the sensitive subject. Section 375 states that if a woman does not physically resist the act of penetration, it shall not be regarded as consenting to the sexual activity.

Directed by Ajay Bahl (he made acclaimed film – B.A Pass). Supported by Richa Chadha and Rahul Bhat, Though Section 375 got better reviews than Dream Girl. it opened to a dull response owing to the serious subject.

At the end of its theater run,  Section 375 collected Rs 17 crore against a budget of Rs 20 crore.
