Bhoot Police is directed by Pawan Kriplani who has made some good horror films like Phobia, Ragini MMS and Darr @ The Mall. This time Pawan Kriplani enters the genre of comedy with a pinch of horror theme and the end product turns out to be a wholesome entertainment. Bhoot Police opens on a hilarious note as the Tantrik brothers performs a fake puja to mint some money, convincing the parents of supposed-to-be possessed girl that she has ward-off from the spirit of her grandfather. The movie introduces more fun-loving characters like Goggle Baba (played by Rajpal Yadav), Chedilal (played by Jaaved Jaaferi), Kanika (played by Jacqueline Fernandez) and Maya (played by Yami Gautam) who hires the ghost hunters to fight off the evil spirit in Dharmshala. This is where the movie becomes interesting to watch. While first half comprises of humor, comedy scenes and witty dialogues that will bring down the house, second half loses the track - too much of drama, unnecessary scenes and uneven writing which drags the film down. Thankfully, the film recovers towards but overall the impact is diluted of what-could-have-been-an-outstanding film.

Black Widow Review – Golden Opportunity Gone Wasted

The good thing about Bhoot Police and thank god for doing it - there are no songs kept in the film which will keep you focused without any diverting your attention. Kudos to Pawan Kriplani for experimenting with something new with each film. Dialogues are smartly written while I loved the background score though I felt the art direction, cinematography, visual effects and even the editing could have been better.

After mind-blowing performances in comedy films like Dil Chahta Hai, Hum Tum, Salaam Namaste, Go Goa Gone and Jawani Jaaneman, Saif Ali Khan will just make you laugh with every comic scenes. In fact, he is the main reason why you should not miss the film. Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam are fine and fits into their character with honest performances. Jaaved Jaaaferi is superb in a small role and so was Amit Mistry (Bandish Bandits) and Rajpal Yadav.
