Dil Se had everything going in its favor – talented director like Mani Ratnam (Roja, Bombay, Yuva, Guru), hot jodi of Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, beautiful songs by A.R.Rahman which was penned by Gulzar. However, the word-of-mouth from the first show itself was against the film and the collections started tumbling down, earning Rs 10.76 crore against a budget of Rs 11 crore and turned out to be “Flop” at the box office. Personally, I felt that movie was ahead of its time and should have been appreciated for its bold story and electrifying performances.
