James Gunn directed The Suicide Squad which was new and improved version of Suicide Squad released in 2016. The new flick featuring old as well as new characters - Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Weasel (Sean Gunn), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Colonel Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Javelin (Flula Borg), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Savant (Michael Rooker) and Sylvester Stallone as the voice of Nanaue / King Shark, opened to a solid reviews from both audience and critics but failed to make an impression at the box office, collecting just $26.5 million. The super hero flick was released simultaneously in HBO max while it collect $45.7 million, bringing home a total of 72.2 million. The budget of The Suicide Squad is estimated to be at $200 million. 

The Rock and Emily Blunt starrer Jungle Cruise came down to the second place after dropping by 55% to 15.7 million. The Disney's action adventure could collect only 65.3 million while the overseas collection was at 56.5 million for the big-budgeted action flick ($200 million),
