Boney Kapoor On Cause Of Sridevi's Death & If Janhvi Kapoor Was Really Born Before Their Marriage?

Boney Kapoor, the renowned Indian film producer and husband of the late glorious actress Sridevi Kapoor, died an accidental death in Dubai due to drowning in a bathtub had left not only the entertainment industry but the entire nation and worldwide fans in shock of losing such irreplaceable superstar. 

Sridevi ‘used to starve, had blackouts’, says Boney Kapoor

In a recent interview, Mr. Kapoor with The New Indian opened up on what actually she used to go through. He shared, “It was not a natural death; it was an accidental death. I had decided not to speak about it because I spoke about it for almost 24 or 48 hours together when I was being investigated and interrogated. In fact, the officers said we had to go through this because there was a lot of pressure from Indian media. And they discovered there was no foul play. I went through all the tests, including lie detector tests and all those things. And then, of course, the report which came clearly stated it was accidental.”

And added, “She often used to starve; she wanted to look good. She wanted to make sure she’s in good shape, so that on-screen, she looks good. From the time she was married to me, she had blackouts on a couple of occasions, and the doctor kept on saying she had a low BP issue.”

Sridevi fell down on the sets of a film?

Further recalling an incident from the film sets which was shared by the actress’ co-star Akkineni Nagarjuna to him, “It was unfortunate. Later when she passed away. Nagarjuna had come home to offer his condolences, and he told me that during one of her movies, she was again on a crash diet, and that’s how she fell in the bathroom and broke her teeth.”

Does really Janhvi was born before his marriage to Sridevi?

In another recent interview with YouTuber Rohan Dua, the producer vanished the rumours of elder daughter and actress Janhvi Kapoor coming to the world before his marriage with Sridevi which happened in Shirdi in 1996 and announced his second marriage only after his wife’s pregnancy was clearly visible in January 1997. 

Earlier there used to be several rumours about her birth before marriage, so when he was talking about his religious beliefs that he and his family doesn't shy away from it. The interviewer then asked him about getting married in a temple as well. 

The filmmaker then shared, “My second marriage, my marriage with Sri (took place in Shirdi). We got married on June 2. We exchanged vows, we spent a night there and it was only in January when her pregnancy was seen that we had no choice, but to marry publicly. It took place in Shirdi, on June 2. (But), in public, we were married only in January (1997). That is why some scribes still write she (Janhvi) was born before marriage, something like that.”

Talking about religious identity and about how they religiously follow the rituals and believe in what they do. Boney Kapoor told the YouTuber, “Whether it was Sri (Sridevi), whether it was Sunita (brother Anil Kapoor’s wife), whether it was me or Anil or my daughter Janhvi. (We are religious). She goes to Tirupathi every three months. My wife Sridevi used to walk to Tirupathi on every birthday of hers. Whenever I was in trouble, she walked from Juhu to Siddhi Vinayak barefoot.”

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi also have a younger daughter Khushi Kapoor and she is also making her film debut through Zoya Akhtar's Netflix original film 'The Archies'.
