Chinese singer, actor, and model Yu Menglong has passed away at the age of 37. His agency confirmed on Thursday that he died after falling from a building in Beijing.
In a statement shared with the media, his management team expressed their grief:
"With unbearable sorrow, we announce that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on Sept 11. Police have ruled out any criminality. We hope he rests in peace and his loved ones remain strong."
Reports first surfaced on Weibo, where a paparazzi post claimed Yu had been with friends before the incident. According to the post, Yu spent the evening of September 9 having dinner with around five to six close friends at a friend’s home. In the early hours of September 11, at around 2 a.m., he went to a bedroom and locked the door from inside.
By 6 a.m., as his friends were preparing to leave, they noticed he was missing. When they went downstairs, they discovered his body. A neighbor walking their dog reportedly saw the scene and alerted the police. Authorities later ruled out foul play but confirmed the investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
Another deleted post mentioned that the fall occurred from the fifth floor of the building and that Yu died instantly upon hitting the ground.

Yu Menglong’s career began in 2007 when he appeared on the talent reality show My Show, My Style. He made his acting debut in the short film The Little Prince (2011). Over the years, he became known for roles in Chinese dramas such as Go Princess Go, Love Game in Eastern Fantasy, Feud, and Eternal Love.
Apart from acting, Yu also pursued music, releasing multiple projects that gained him recognition as a singer. His diverse career made him a well-loved figure in both the television and music industries.
