In a bizarre turn of events, a 30-year-old woman working as a domestic help in Delhi's Dwarka area was arrested for stealing gold and silver jewelry worth lakhs to buy a DSLR camera for her Instagram and YouTube channels.
Neetu Yadav, aiming to become a social media star, wanted to buy a high-quality Nikon DSLR camera to create top-notch video content. However, her dream was cut short when the Anti Burglary Cell of Dwarka District police nabbed her soon after the theft.
Police tracked Neetu down after her phone was switched off and her provided address turned out to be fake. CCTV footage and local inquiries led them to her real location. She was arrested while attempting to flee Delhi with the stolen jewelry in her bag.
During interrogation, Neetu revealed she came to Delhi from Rajasthan to escape her abusive, drug-addict husband. While working as a domestic help, she began making Instagram Reels and YouTube videos. Encouraged to buy a DSLR camera for better resolution, she found the cost beyond her reach. After being denied a loan by relatives, she decided to steal jewelry from a bungalow in Dwarka to fund her social media ambitions.
