SP Barmer Narendra Singh Meena the Pakistani national claimed during the preliminary interrogation that he was trying to escape the family members of his girlfriend, “The man said that he had gone to meet his girlfriend in the Tharparkar district of Pakistan but her family members spotted him so he escaped from there with a scarf of the girl. He said that he also attempted suicide by hanging himself with the scarf but could not succeed and crossed the border.”

He further added, “He managed to escape from her house and began running. As it was dark at the time, he had no idea which direction he was running. Seeing a light, he ran towards it and crossed the fence and reached Japda village.” He also said, “Koli told us that he was having an affair with a Pakistani girl. He mentioned that his village was about 35 km from the international border and his girlfriend’s village was about 8 km away.”

Koli was caught by the BSF officers on Sunday in the Japda village in Barmer district, about 15 kms from the India-Pakistan border and on Monday, he was handed over to the local police by BSF
