Shocked and upset zoogoers of Shanwei Zoo in China ask for refunds after figuring out that the pandas displayed at the zoo were painted dogs.
According to reports, the zoogoers noticed the ‘pandas’ panting and barking, creating curiosity. Upon closer inspection, they even saw a panda wagging its tail. The video of the 'pandas' in a fenced-off zoo soon went viral. Upon investigation, the Shanwei Zoo stated in their defence.

At first, they claimed it was a new breed called 'Panda Dogs,' but Zoogoers could not believe their lies and forced Management into revealing that these 'pandas' were dogs painted as pandas. The audience online took no time to decipher that the animals were, in fact, Chow Chows, a breed of dog native to Northern China, dyed black and white to mimic the appearance of pandas.
Upon learning the truth, the zoo faced a lot of allegations and backlash, both online and offline. The general public had a negative impact by this scandal, with many voicing concerns over the welfare of the dogs fenced off at the zoo. Disappointed zoogoers have pressured the management to refund their money for tricking them.
