Five individuals have been booked after condoms, gutka, and stones were allegedly found in samosas supplied to a major automobile company based in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune. The accused, identified as Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, Mazhar Shaikh, Firoz Shaikh, and Vicky Shaikh, stand accused of inserting the harmful items into the snacks.
Among the accused, two were workers from a subcontracting firm responsible for the supply, while the remaining three were partners from a firm whose contract had been terminated earlier for adulteration issues in snacks. The police investigation revealed that the partners had planted the workers to sabotage the reputation of the newly contracted firm.
Catalyst Service Solutions Pvt. Ltd. was responsible for providing snacks to the automobile firm's canteen, with a contract given to another subcontracting firm named Manohar Enterprise for samosa supply. During the investigation, it was discovered that two workers from Manohar Enterprises, Firoz Shaikh and Vicky Shaikh, had allegedly stuffed condoms, gutka, and stones into the samosas.
Further interrogation revealed that employees of SRA Enterprises, whose contracts were cancelled earlier for adulterations, had sent their workers to Manohar Enterprises to adulterate the food supplied to the company in order to defame the latter. The three remaining accused are partners of SRA Enterprises, previously removed from the contract after a first aid bandage was found in the samosa supplied to the automobile company.
A case has been registered against the accused under IPC sections 328 and 120B for causing harm by poison and criminal conspiracy. The police continue to investigate the matter further to ensure justice is served.
