He can serve beverages. He can sway. He can take pictures. He can hold discussions. Afterall, he can do anything "you wish." Meet Tesla's Optimus robot, your probable humanoid best friend. Several Optimus robots flaunted their abilities by walking the shaft and serving drinks at Tesla's ‘We, Robot' event in California on Thursday.
Optimus poured juices without bothering for a 25% tip on an iPad. “It can do practically whatever you want. It can act as a professor, babysit your child, walk your pet, fetch grocery, or just be your bestie. Whatever you can think, it will accomplish, and it’s going to be amazing,” stated Tesla CEO Elon Musk at the launch.
In a corroboration video shown at the event, Optimus was shown picking up packages and handling household tasks such as watering plants, cleaning home, unpacking groceries, and having fun with little children. To authenticate his claims, Musk brought several Optimus robots to the event and inspired attendees to treat them kindly. “You can loom them, and they will serve drinks. It's an unimaginable experience to interact with anthropoid robots. They are right there for you.”
Musk elaborated that the price of Optimus will range from $20,000 to $30,000 eventually.
The internet is blowing with enthusiasm about Optimus.
A user on X shared a video of Optimus greeting guests, engaging in discussions, and taking orders. Another commented, “Didn’t it feel like you were on a time travel journey? This phenomenon certainly made a history.”
Some users expressed doubt about Optimus's conversational capabilities. One wrote, “Is that really Optimus talking? It seems like there’s a human after it.”
Another user said, “The ones mixing and serving drinks were remotely operated, but it’s still quite influencing.”
Comments included: “When Optimus's hand talent matches that of a human, I’d be interested in buying one. Largely, if it can collect information on various topics and learn. I could really use the help with our rental properties and around our home in Arizona,” showing eagerness for this revolution.
