Reports from Bangladesh Daily Prothom Alo suggest that the Prime Minister, along with her younger sister, is reportedly traveling to India for refuge. However, there has been no official confirmation of her resignation or departure from Dhaka.

The report also mentioned that she intended to address the nation but was unable to do so. The anti-government movement in Bangladesh, home to approximately 170 million people, has garnered widespread support from various sectors, including the arts. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who has been in power since 2009, won her fourth consecutive term in January amid an election marked by the absence of a genuine opposition. Her administration is criticized by human rights groups for allegedly using state institutions to entrench power and stifle dissent, including through claims of extrajudicial killings of opposition figures.
