During a recent appearance on the YouTube show Park Eun Ha’s Exchange, singer-actress IU recounted a memorable incident involving her co-star Park Bo Gum from their time filming the Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines.

She praised Park Bo Gum for his thoughtful and principled approach when addressing a young actor's inappropriate language on set.

IU described Park Bo Gum as "not only a good person but also a very clear and principled one." She recalled an instance where a child actor repeated a slang word, likely without understanding its meaning. Park Bo Gum gently placed his hands on the child's shoulders and said, "Do you know what that word means? Promise me you won’t say that again, okay?" This respectful correction left a strong impression on IU, highlighting Park Bo Gum's maturity and kindness.

Reflecting on the moment, IU noted that witnessing Park Bo Gum's interaction with the child actor made her think he was truly admirable. She appreciated how he fulfilled his role as an adult on set, guiding younger actors with care and respect. 

When Life Gives You Tangerines follows the story of Ae Soon, played by IU, and her childhood friend Gwan Shik, portrayed by Park Bo Gum, as they navigate life's challenges in 1950s Jeju.
