We Don’t Have “Two Captains Culture” In India, Kapil Dev About Switching Captains According To Formats

“An international company can’t keep 2 CEOs at one time,” Kapil Dev shared his thoughts about giving captaincy to Rohit Sharma in limited over formats. There are discussions about two different captains for Indian squads according to cricket formats and Kapil Dev disclosed his opinion over the topic.

Rohit Sharma who has consistently scored runs for Indian Team for the last few years and still doing the same. Recently in Indian Premier League Mumbai Indians won the fifth IPL title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. After winning the IPL 2020 title there was few discussions among cricket experts and spectators about Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in limited overs format.

From many decades Indian team never worked on two different captains according to different formats of cricket. Also in the last decades captains like Saurav Ganguly, MS Dhoni, and now Virat Kohli satisfied with their results. “We don’t have two captain culture and we won’t follow that,” Kapil Dev said. Also there were discussions among many cricket experts one of the opinions was; there should be no comparison between players on the results of domestic cricket leagues.

Virat Kohli hasn’t won a single IPL title while Rohit has won five in eight years but this does not mean Virat Kohli is not the liable captain in limited overs format, discussions among cricket fans over social media.
