Virat Kohli becomes the first cricketer to complete 100 million followers on Instagram. The current Indian skipper is also the first Asian celebrity to achieve such kind of numbers.
After completing 100 million followers on the social media platform, the 32-year-old cricketer has joined the elite club of ten crore followers on Instagram which includes football stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymay Jr. Legendary football player Ronaldo is the only sportsperson with over 200 million Instagram followers.
Virat Kohli recently acquired the 23rd position on the most-followed Instagram accounts list after overtaking musician and actress Demi Lovato. Kohli has more followers than famous football clubs like FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF.
MS Dhoni has 30.4 million followers on Instagram and the former captain is only bettered by Kohli who has almost more than three times the followers. The official social media handles of BCCI and ICC has lesser followers than Kohli.
The Indian captain is currently leading his team in a home series against England in the longest format of the game. The hosts lead the Test series by 2-1. After completing 100 million on the social media platform, the batsman’s fans and followers are eagerly waiting for his 71st century. Kohli scored his last international century in the year 2019 against Bangladesh in the first-ever pink-ball Test at the Eden Gardens.
