Why Suriya Now Regrets Not Taking a Key Role in SS Rajamouli’s 'Baahubali'

In several interviews, Suriya has voiced his regret over missing the chance to work with renowned director SS Rajamouli. He disclosed that Rajamouli had approached him for a significant role in the epic film *Baahubali*, but he decided not to accept the offer. Suriya has since admitted this was a mistake and has pledged not to miss future opportunities to collaborate with the acclaimed filmmaker.

Baahubali, which was released in two parts—Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion—has become one of India's most successful film franchises. The series, featuring a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, and Sathyaraj, received widespread critical acclaim and achieved remarkable box office success.

Currently, Suriya is concentrating on his upcoming project, tentatively titled Suriya 44, which is directed by Karthik Subbaraj. This film stars Pooja Hegde along with Jayaram, Joju George, and Karunakaran in key roles. An elaborate set was constructed in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, to film intense action sequences.

Suriya's new look for the movie, featuring a Fu Manchu mustache and a mullet hairstyle, has been revealed, generating considerable anticipation. Additionally, Suriya’s recent cameo in Sarfira, starring Akshay Kumar, underscores his continued presence in the film industry, with his fans eagerly awaiting his forthcoming roles.
