Song Joong-ki Reacts to His ‘Bad Boy’ Tag, Shares Favorite Vincenzo Moments at Manila Fan Meet

South Korean actor Song Joong-ki made his first visit to Manila on May 24, joining fans in the Philippines for a special meet-and-greet that doubled as his debut appearance as the new brand ambassador for IAM Worldwide, a Filipino wellness brand.

Speaking to the crowd, Joong-ki looked genuinely surprised by the warm welcome. “This is my first time in Manila. When I was in Korea and Italy, I had Filipino friends who always told me Filipinos are cool,” he said. “So I really wanted to come to Manila to meet all of you.”

And meet them he did — the event was packed with fans, many of whom have followed his career from Descendants of the Sun to Reborn Rich and Vincenzo.

During a Q&A session, Joong-ki got personal. He was asked why his shows connect so well with Filipino audiences. With a bit of humor, he threw the question back to the crowd, clearly touched but puzzled. One fan shouted “Bad boy image!” — and the room broke into laughter.

“I’m very grateful for all your love,” he said. “And I’m very curious why you love my dramas so much.”

Naturally, the discussion moved to his role in Vincenzo, where he played a mafia consigliere turned anti-hero. When asked about his most unforgettable scenes, Joong-ki picked the vineyard fire from the first episode and the final kiss scene.

“Of course, many scenes are memorable for me,” he added, smiling.

Joong-ki also opened up about roles he hopes to try in the future. His answer? “I want to try a one-of-a-kind vampire character in a fantasy drama,” he shared, sparking cheers from the crowd. It’s clear fans are more than ready to see him in something completely different.
