Ace Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan’s demise has left her fans and the film industry stunned and in a state of grief. She passed away on Friday, July 3, due to a cardiac arrest, in Mumbai, after she was admitted to the city’s Guru Nanak hospital. The 71-year-old veteran choreographer has left her legacy in Bollywood with her expressions and dance sequences. She was laid to rest in Mumbai’s suburbs on Friday morning amidst close family members.
Now, her family has shared a heartwarming portrait on her official Instagram account and thanked fans for their prayers. They also revealed that the prayer meet which was scheduled for next week has been canceled keeping in view the current coronavirus situation.
The post reads, “Thank you for all your messages and for keeping Mummy in your prayers. Given the current COVID-19 situation, there will be no prayer meet. Whenever the situation improves, we will meet and celebrate the life of Saroj Khan.”
From Amitabh Bachchan to Madhuri Dixit, many celebrities mourned Khan’s demise on social media. Shah Rukh Khan also shared a heartfelt note remembering Saroj Khan. He wrote, “My first genuine teacher in the film industry. She taught me for hours how to do the ‘dip’ for film dancing. One of the most caring, loving & inspiring persona I have ever met. Will miss you Sarojji. May Allah bless her soul. Thank u for looking after me (sic).”
