RCB remains undefeated team till now in this year’s campaign of IPL as Kohli and co. beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 38 runs in the only high scoring match at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. RCB retains top position in the points table by winning their 3rd match with 6 points.

Right from the toss RCB made exceptional decisions as Kohli opted bat first and team scored an unbelievable total of 204 runs with the spikes of Middle order destructive batters Glenn Maxwell and Ab De Villiers.

After a sudden collapse of Top order in early overs, Maxwell continued his inform attack and scored 78 runs in 49 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes. While he got the same intent from Ab De Villiers, scored 76 runs off just 34 balls with same number of boundaries plus remained not-out.

As a reason Royals become only team to score 200+ on Chennai ground this year where teams are struggling to score and chase 150 around totals. Eoin Morgan’s captaincy got criticized for his unwanted decisions in the bowling attack.

In the second inning, opening duo of KKR started well but couldn’t make it in the big tally this time. Gill with the strike rate of 233 scored 21 off 9 balls got caught by Christian on the bowl of Jamieson. While middle order done their job to anchor the innings but again failed to cope up with required run rate.

Dinesh Karthik again failed to score any runs, got LBW on 2 runs while Russell who walked in on No. 7 showed his reputed firecrackers but it was too late. Russell in the second last over tried to be on the strike and as a result Mohammad Siraj succeeds to shut him up with his comfortable on point yorkers.
