UKs COVID-19 situation is getting critical day by day as Boris Johnson has declared nationwide lockdown in Britain. Meanwhile Johnson was scheduled to attend India’s Republic Day celebrations on January 26. But Boris Johnson called off the plan and both the PMOs confirmed the updates.

In a statement published by UK Prime Minister Office announcement was made to call off the India visit of Johnson on Republic Day. “The Prime Minister spoke to Prime Minister Modi this morning, to express his regret that he will be unable to visit India later this month as planned,” statement said.

With giving the reasons of Covid situation in the country and New Covid-19 Strain the visit has been cancelled. Statement said, “In light of the National lockdown announced last night and the speed at which the new coronavirus variant is spreading, the Prime Minister said that it was important for him to remain in the UK so he can focus on the domestic response to the virus.”

Also the Boris showed positive vibes about the relationships between both the countries and visit to India. “The Prime Minister said that he hopes to be able to visit India in the first half of 2021, and ahead of the UKs G7 Summit that PM Modi is due to attend as a guest.”
