This Flight To Ahmedabad Turns Into A Coldplay Concert
Coldplay admirers experienced an extraordinary combination of musical entertainment and travel adventures before the band's shows in India became an absolute sensation.
Coldplay’s magical performances in Ahmedabad inspired not only stadium-goers but also passengers aboard an IndiGo flight, creating a shared experience of music, joy, and community.
IndiGo (6E) Captain Pradeep Krishnan uplifted the Pune (PNQ) to Ahmedabad (AMD) flight as he entertained his passenger-filled plane dedicated to Coldplay's concert.
Engaging with the passengers, he asked, “How many of you are going to the Coldplay concert? How many of you have two extra tickets?” This casual yet spirited interaction drew cheers, laughter, and applause, breaking the monotony of the flight.
According to a band post on Twitter, concert attendance reached 1.34 lakh on Sunday.
India's biggest ticketed musical events previously drew up to 50,000 concertgoers at Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber performances until about a quarter ago. YOYO Honey Singh said Haldia witnessed 2 lakh concert attendees although independent verification was never obtained for the claim made in 2020.
This is also Coldplay's biggest concert ever, surpassing the 83,000 mark from their Sydney gig in November last year.
Both Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber delivered their shows in venue spaces that were reduced in scale. Justin Bieber took the stage at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai back in 2017. Reports about the number of concertgoers differed between 65,000 and 50,000 people. Diljit Dosanjh performed for 50,000 people at the Sector 34 Ground in Chandigarh as part of his Dil-Luminati Tour in December 2024.
