STREE 2 ACTOR OVER BOX OFFICE SUCCESS
"Stree 2 continues its unstoppable box office success. Starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, the film has now become the second-highest-grossing Hindi movie in India. In an interview with DNA, actor Abhishek Banerjee discussed the balance between critical acclaim and audience appreciation, emphasizing that the latter is what truly matters. He said, 'Critical appreciation for our performance is subjective. Everyone has their own opinion, and no matter how well you perform, there will always be people who don’t find it up to the mark. But when we start acting, we aim for audience acceptance and public love. That’s what’s important.'
He further added, 'Sometimes, you might be doing everything right, yet the audience doesn’t notice, while critics applaud you. But as an actor, you feel a stronger desire to connect with the audience. To be honest, critical appreciation doesn’t pay the bills. No matter how much critics praise you, producers will only give you work if the audience loves your performance. The thrill of acting is always about the audience, and when they appreciate your work, that’s a different kind of high.'
Despite facing box office competition from 'Khel Khel Mein' and 'Vedaa,' 'Stree 2' quickly emerged as the top choice for viewers, outshining the other two by a significant margin. A sequel to the 2018 hit 'Stree,' the horror-comedy received positive reviews and entered the ₹250 crore club within just six days of its release. The story follows Rajkummar's character Vicky and his friends, along with Shraddha's mysterious character, as they confront a new terror—a headless ghost known as Sarkata."
