Indian Film Wins International Award
The Malayalam film ‘Manjummel Boys’ bagged the award for the Best Music at the Kino Bravo International Film Festival held at Russia. The award was received by composer Sushin Shyam and director Chidambaram on behalf of the movie.
Manjummel Boys’ was the lone Indian film to be screened at the competitive category of the festival. Best known films in the eligible pool included Payal Kapadia’s ‘All We Imagine as Light’ and S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. The festival was held at Sochi, Russia.
Marco Müller, an Italian critic, film historian and a producer, was the head of the jury and the Indian film director Vishal Bhardwaj was the member of the jury. Chidambaram said in his response to how he felt after watching the film that many viewers from Russia cried.
He told the Times of India that many people came to him after the screening and said words, even hugging him. He also said that there were asking many questions regarding film's settings and making during the face-to-face session.
This appreciation just goes on to prove how Indian cinema has prominently found its root in the international bracket in identifying the sentiment touch of ‘Manjummel Boys’.
