On Thursday, Superstar Salman Khan attended the trailer launch event of the upcoming Punjabi film 'Maujaan Hi Maujaan' starring Gippy Grewal. Salman got into candid chat and he discussed about the performances of films and about the box-office collection. He said that in future the movies should aim for the benchmark of Rs 1000 crore to succeed at the box office as its will soon become very common for movies to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
Salman on setting Rs 1000 crore benchmark:
In the event, Salman Khan discussed about the movies entering the club of Rs 100 crore easily and about the future goals of flims and he said, "I think the ₹100 crore mark is going to be the rock bottom now. Everything would be ₹400-500-600 plus now for the Punjabi industry, Hindi industry, every industry. Even Marathi films are doing these numbers. ₹100 crore is not going to be a very big deal. I think the benchmark should be ₹1000 crore for a film right now.”
Further, Gippy expressed that he wishes that, his upcoming movie will also do good at the box-office and will earn big, and he said, "When our films used to do business of ₹10-15 crore, we would be surprised. Last time, when asked if our film can do ₹100 crore, we didn’t know what to say. But by God’s grace, everything went well. If Salman sir is saying, then something huge will happen.”
