Shinchan is one of the most famous cartoon character recognized in India and in the entire global population. It used to have a large (SEXUALLY) audience when it began airing in India in 2006 and Hindi versions were premiered on Hungama TV. Yet, in 2008, the show was taken off air in India because the content of the show was quite vulgar. Having worked for the show in the Motor Mouth YouTube channel, Aakash Ahuja, the voice artiste behind Shinchan stated that he felt the show to be lewd while adding that he even dubbed Shinchan dancing naked.

As they would tell me that you dub this, then we will see. He would sing ‘haathi, mera pyara haathi’ which was like this so filthy at that age of 7. They don’t want any kid, even adult, should watch it because it was that obscene. They would remove it all later.” He went on to add, ‘There used to be a line on the show ‘Bachhe churane vali moti budhiya (fat woman who steals babies),’ that was the line’. After the case has been filed… by the time I was called, we had done roughly 150-200 episodes & all those lines were edited otherwise Shinchan may never go to air. We changed all those lines so it could go on TV.”

Admitting he dubbed for the show only until he felt a lot of pressure on his vocal cords, Aakash also revealed pressure of board examination. He also disclosed that he developed vocal cords different from what he used to do at 10 years, he could not do what he used to do at 15 years. The show was banned for a year before it was restarted in 2009.
